PlateWeek (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the PlateWeek application and website (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By using PlateWeek, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not store your password directly.
Meal Plan Data: We store the meal plans you create, including meal names, weekly grids, grocery lists, and preferences. This data is associated with your account to provide personalization.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Polar.sh. We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or other payment credentials. We receive only your subscription status and a customer identifier from Polar.
AI Prompts: When you use our AI meal planning feature, your text prompts are sent to OpenAI for processing. We do not permanently store the prompts you submit. OpenAI processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Usage Data: We may collect basic analytics such as feature usage and error logs to improve the Service. We do not track you across other websites.

Each third-party provider processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum information required for each service to function.
Your account data and meal plans are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days. We reserve the right to delete inactive accounts and associated data after 12 months of inactivity.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Clerk, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hi@weeklyplate.co. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
PlateWeek is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
